Jim Huneke: Tennis Keeps You Fit

Jim Huneke is certified by the United States Professional Tennis Association to teach tennis skills to people of all ages. He has given expert instruction to many aspiring tennis players, which couldn’t have been possible without a strong commitment to physical fitness.

Staying fit has always been an important part of Jim Huneke’s life. His interest in the sport of tennis demanded that he maintain an active physical fitness routine. Jim Huneke stresses the importance of good health and exercise to his students because he knows how integral it is to becoming a competitive and successful tennis player.

Tennis involves constant physical activity. Players are continuously running across the court in every direction, which requires endurance and good muscle memory. Jim Huneke recommends maintaining a strong bodily frame by a consistent stretching and workout routine. As a tennis professional who has worked for multiple organizations and clubs, Jim Huneke knows he must keep his body in good shape and his mind sharp enough to keep up with his students.

Jim Huneke understands how easy it can be to injure yourself if you aren’t committed to consistent exercise. Tennis requires multiple muscle groups that must be taken care of. Each muscle group must be properly stretched and maintained by the tennis player in order to establish flexibility and agility.  While Jim Huneke understands the importance of serving, backhands, strength and speed, he also knows that tennis requires and enormous amount of flexibility and agility, and that’s why he is adamant about stretching and exercise.
